L.L. Bean Parking Garage
Lewiston, Maine
Client:
- City of Lewiston
Services:
- Architectural – Engineering
- Construction Management
The City of Lewiston built this parking garage in conjunction with attracting L.L. Bean to occupy the 100,00 square foot Peck’s building as a telecommunications center. The availability of an ample site allowed Platz Associates to use a double helix design which maximized the number of cars able to park in a given footprint. A very tight budget mandated few frills in this steel and concrete structure. The end result was a 650 car parking garage constructed at a cost of $4,200 per vehicle. Platz Associates was responsible for all architecture, engineering, and construction management on this project.
